Ingredients
For 4 servings
- 500 grams chicken breast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tomato
- 1 red onion
- 200 grams plain yogurt
- 4 whole wheat flatbread
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill
Instructions
- 1
Slice the chicken breast into thin strips.
- 2
In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for 5 minutes.
- 3
While the chicken is marinating, dice the cucumber and tomatoes, and thinly slice the red onion.
- 4
Add the marinated chicken to a hot non-stick pan and cook over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- 5
In a small bowl, combine plain yogurt with chopped fresh dill to make the sauce.
- 6
Warm the whole wheat flatbreads in a dry pan until soft.
- 7
Assemble the gyros: place cooked chicken strips on the flatbread, add cucumber, tomato, and onion, and drizzle with yogurt sauce. Wrap and serve.
