Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 500 grams pork shoulder
  • 200 ml coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 8 bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. 1

Soak bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during grilling.

  2. 2

In a mixing bowl, combine coconut milk, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, ground black pepper, and vegetable oil to prepare the marinade.

  3. 3

Cut pork shoulder into thin strips and add them to the marinade. Mix well to ensure each piece is coated.

  4. 4

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  5. 5

    Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  6. 6

Thread marinated pork strips onto the soaked skewers.

  7. 7

Grill skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until pork is cooked through and has nice grill marks.

  8. 8

Serve hot with steamed jasmine rice or as a standalone snack.
