Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 1 pound shrimp
  • 12 ounces linguine
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 0.5 cup white wine
  • 0.25 cup parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • salt — to taste
  • black pepper — to taste

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.

  2. 2

While the pasta is cooking, mince the garlic and juice the lemon, setting aside both the juice and zest.

  3. 3

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  4. 4

Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  5. 5

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  6. 6

Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque; remove from the skillet and set aside.

  7. 7

In the same skillet, add the white wine and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

  8. 8

Let the mixture simmer for about 2 minutes to reduce slightly, then stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted.

  9. 9

Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.

  10. 10

Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing to combine everything evenly.

  11. 11

Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle chopped parsley and lemon zest over the top.

  12. 12

Serve immediately, adjusting seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.
