Ingredients

- 1 cup white rice
- 1 cup brown lentils
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 400 g canned tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- salt — to taste
- black pepper — to taste
Instructions

Rinse the white rice and brown lentils under cold running water.

Dice the onion and carrot, and finely chop the garlic.

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

Add the onion, carrot, and garlic to the skillet and sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in the ground cumin and ground coriander and cook for another minute until fragrant.
