Ingredients
For 4 servings
- 400 g penne pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 400 g canned crushed tomatoes
- salt — to taste
- black pepper — to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 3 liters water
Instructions
- 1
Bring water to a boil in a large pot and add a pinch of salt. Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 10-12 minutes.
- 2
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- 3
Finely chop garlic cloves and add to the skillet, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 4
Add red chili flakes to the skillet and stir for another 30 seconds.
- 5
Pour canned crushed tomatoes into the skillet, stir, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 6
Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the skillet, tossing to coat the penne evenly with the sauce.
- 7
Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle over the pasta before serving.
